Tum ne jab zulf-e-pareshan ko sanwara hoga
Sadka-e-husn ghataon ne utaara hoga
Aap ki chashm-e-karam ka jo ishara hoga
Auj par mere muqaddar ka sitara hoga
Sang-dil tere bhi aansu nikal aaye honge
Doobne wale ne jab tujh ko pukara hoga
Main ne ilzaam khushi se liye sab apne sar
Aap badnaam hoon, ye kis ko gawara hoga
Kuch to kismat ki hai saazish meri barbadi mein
Aur kuch un ki bhi nazron ka ishara hoga
Kya gharaz us ko zamane ki khushi se “Danish”
Yaar ka gham hi jise jaan se pyara hoga

तुम ने जब जुल्फ़-ए-परेशाँ को सँवारा होगा
सदक़ा-ए-हुस्न घटाओं ने उतारा होगा
आप की चश्म-ए-करम का जो इशारा होगा
औज पर मेरे मुक़द्दर का सितारा होगा
संग-दिल तेरे भी आँसू निकल आए होंगे
डूबने वाले ने जब तुझ को पुकारा होगा
मैं ने इल्ज़ाम ख़ुशी से लिए सब अपने सर
आप बदनाम हूँ, ये किस को गवारा होगा
कुछ तो क़िस्मत की है साज़िश मेरी बर्बादी में
और कुछ उन की भी नज़रों का इशारा होगाक्या ग़रज़ उस को ज़माने की ख़ुशी से ‘दानिश’
यार का ग़म ही जिसे जान से प्यारा होगा
